Caroline Borgan from the Imperial College of London talked about how device makes now have the responsibility/obligation to protect the users of their devices. Given that most consumers of devices/IoT do not know much about the dangers of the cyber world. This means that the responsibility now falls on the manufacturers to implement cyber security best practices in order to protect their users. It will also be up to the government to enforce these new stands. This is especially pressing due to the advent of IoT, where devices that no one though of having to do anything with he Internet are now getting network access. One security professional

said "Everything is a computer, your toaster if it is not soon will be", which means that manufacturers cannot be sloppy in their implementation of security for these devices.
